How are you feeling about your spring wardrobe? Today I’m sharing a casual spring capsule wardrobe, which is the sample capsule in the new Spring Wardrobe & Outfit Guide.
At the start of every season, I love to prep my wardrobe. I assess what I have for the season, identify wardrobe gaps, and figure out what I need to replace or want to add. Taking some time to plan this way helps me have a functional wardrobe that enables me to get dressed easily and quickly each morning. Planning ensures I have key wardrobe essentials and enough clothes that work well together so that I’m not scrambling to pull together outfits, just hoping something works.
Planning in this way is kind of like making a grocery list each week. You figure out what you need to buy and stock your kitchen accordingly. If your kitchen is stocked appropriately you can make meals easily throughout the week. But if you didn’t grocery shop well and are missing key items, you’ll be scrambling to try and pull together a decent meal all week.
Your closet is the same way. Planning and ensuring your wardrobe is stocked appropriately makes pulling together outfits go much more smoothly each morning!
And that’s where a resource like the Spring Wardrobe & Outfit Guide can help. It helps you assess and plan your wardrobe for the season and makes it easier for you to feel stylish each day.
If you’d like help figuring out what to include in your wardrobe, where to shop, and outfit ideas for the season, it’s all in there for ya!

Casual Spring Capsule Wardrobe
On to the casual spring capsule wardrobe! I always like to add prints and colors to the example capsules because I believe it’s important to show that your wardrobe can mix and match super fluidly even with colors and prints. You don’t have to have only neutrals and basics in order to have a versatile, highly remixable wardrobe.
However, your wardrobe is customizable, so you can add as many or as few neutrals and basics as you want. Or you can add as many prints and colors as you want!

How to Build Your Capsule With Pieces From Your Closet
Here’s what I tell our Style Club members to do with our Spring Wardrobe & Outfit Guide:
- Go through your closet and pull forward anything you want to wear this spring. All the bottoms that are wearable — and that you actually want to wear. All the tops you want to wear, and so forth.
- Then, look at the checklist in the guide and see which Building Block each of your pieces falls under. Write them in your list.
- Identify where you have gaps. Are there building blocks that are sparse? Do you even NEED to fill them in? You get to decide.
- THEN after all of that, look to this sample casual spring capsule wardrobe to get ideas for what else you could add. Use it for inspiration.
- Shop for wardrobe gaps, if you have any.
This process helps you use what you already have in your closet instead of feeling like you’re supposed to replace your entire wardrobe each season. (Definitely don’t want you doing the latter!) It keeps you from overbuying. And it helps you build a wardrobe that has a mixture of foundational items and flair pieces so that it’s easier to pull together outfits. If you want more on this, check out my blog post about it HERE.
You can do this process with the Spring Wardrobe & Outfit Guide, and of course you can do it on your own if you prefer. If you do get the guide, you can fill in the Building Block checklist, use the bonus Shopping Directory full of links and shipping recommendations, and get 98 outfit ideas from these pieces all laid out for you. Even though I am the one who creates the guide, even I find that having the guide as a complete tool saves me so much brain power when I’m prepping my own wardrobe. As a mom of three kids, any brain power I can save is GOLD! 🤪
Plus, the Outfit Calendar is a lifesaver each week! It has 6 weeks of outfits planned. It’s so helpful when you don’t have the mental energy to figure out what to wear — you can open up the Outfit Calendar and see outfit ideas for each day right there!
