ModCloth Spring Collection and Some Really, Really Good Swimsuits
February 29, 2016
Ahhhhhhh, springtime! It’s been in the 70s and 80s here for the last couple of weeks, so I *think* it’s here to stay. I’ve been making the switch to spring style, and today I’m partnering with ModCloth to show some picks from their swimwear collection (HERE) and nautical spring collection (HERE).
As you know, I love ModCloth! They not only have a ton of closet staples (like blazers, this cargo jacket, or this perfect mustard cardigan), they also have super super super cute, unique pieces. I started shopping at ModCloth because I wanted pieces with some more unique qualities, and ModCloth does that so well! Not to mention they have an insanely massive inventory that ranges from super casual to dressy, so you can really find something for any of your lifestyle needs.
I was looking for pieces that would be cute for some sort of spring vacation, though there’s no reason why you wouldn’t wear these on non-vacation days too. The outfits I styled today involve a laid back, toddler-chasing look, one for a brunching or lunching, and a couple of great swimsuits.
This top caught my eye because it’s made of my two favorite patterns, stripes and polka dots! The front is serious in stripes, but there’s a party full of polka dots in the back. It’s got a really laid back look that I paired with regular blue jeans for family time at a nearby park. You can also pair this with white jeans for a super fresh casual look.
The material of the front is soft but quite thin and very see-through. You would certainly need a cami underneath. The back is that silky feeling polyester. The whole thing is plenty long, adding to the laid back and easygoing vibe. I’m normally S/M, but M at ModCloth. I’m wearing this in M.

Next, I loved this paisley patterned top for a breezy spring vacation look. It’d look super cute with shorts and flat sandals too. I kept the blue/white theme going and paired it with white jeans.
I’m wearing M here, but I will likely exchange it for S since it’s quite billowy.

As cute as those tops are, I saved the best for last. This swimsuit is SO CUTE. It’s more than I’ve been comfortable paying for a swimsuit, but at the same time the price is pretty on parr with average prices I’ve seen for CUTE one piece swimsuits. Especially well constructed ones that make your figure look smokin’!
Not only is the print adorable, there’s also a hardwire built in supportive bra, and the torso squeezes in what’s necessary. Like I said–makes your figure look smokin’. The straps are removable. I’m wearing size M but am going to exchange it for L. The one person that reviewed it said they couldn’t get the Medium over their hips since the bust with the built in bra doesn’t provide stretch. However, I have larger hips than that person and was able to get the Medium over my hips. It took some effort, but it was possible! Still, I’d prefer a Large simply because of how and where it squeezed around my bum. I’ll spare you a picture of that because it’s not cute. 😛

This has SO many reviews of people raving about it, so I had to try it even though it’s even more expensive than the one above! Sizing was said to run really small, so based on reviews I ordered a 10 (usually I’m 6/8) and it worked out.
Unlike the one above, the built in bra is not a hardwire, so it is much, much, much easier to get over larger hips. There is so much ruching on this suit which is why it’s so darn flattering on everyone. On EVERYONE. Or, so it seems based on 1,000 + positive reviews. And after trying it, I’d include myself in that bunch! Even more than the one above, this one hugs your body in a very supportive way through the torso, and the ruching both hides and flatters unwanted lumps.
It also comes in dark green (HERE) which has even MORE reviews (1,200+!), a super cute navy or black and cream polka dot (HERE), navy (HERE), really stinking cute black with red cherries (HERE), and soooo many more colors that you should just check out at ModCloth!
Note: The black suit + alternative colors are also available in extended sizing, from 16-26 though they would not be featured through the links above. You’d have to go HEREfor extended sizing swimsuits.

Other things I wish I’d tried:
Polka dot tunic (great for curvy women) – I didn’t see it when I first placed my order, but only saw it when making the shopping widget below. I don’t know if it’d look cute on me anyway, but it’s noteworthy because it looks REALLY cute on curvier women!
Striped flats– I didn’t let myself. I have a perfectly good pair. But gosh, those are cute!
Anyway, in the widget below you’ll find some of the swimsuits I mentioned. But there are PLENTY more at ModCloth in the exact shape as all of these for you to check out. If you can’t see the widget and you’re in Bloglovin’, make sure you click out of the Bloglovin’ frame.
Warm thanks to ModCloth for their collaboration on this post!
