Spring is here, and with it comes the perfect opportunity to refresh your wardrobe with pieces that feel stylish, effortless, and perfectly suited for the season. If you’re looking to update your go-to outfits with a fun and trendy twist, today’s post is for you! I’m sharing my favorite spring fashion trends — that are actually wearable for everyday life!
That said, spoiler alert: I won’t be reporting spring fashion trends from the runway or fancy magazines. Instead, I’m focusing on the fun styles that are popular and trending in stores right now. AND, I’m primarily focusing on ones that won’t look super outdated by next week. These trends are super practical, versatile, and easy to incorporate.
SIZING: I’m 5’6″ and usually S/M or 6 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.
Spring Fashion Trend #1: Wide Leg Jeans and Pants

We all know wide leg jeans are still going strong, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t name them. I’ve loved the resurgence of wide leg jeans. They’re roomy and comfortable — your legs aren’t suffocated! 😜 While other styles might have gained popularity (like barrel leg jeans, for example), wide leg jeans still give you a modern and updated look, and they’re not going away anytime soon.
If you need help styling wide leg jeans, I’ve got you covered with two posts (and more coming in the next couple of weeks!).

Spring Fashion Trend #2: Colored Sneakers
Colored sneakers are everywhere, and this might be my favorite of all of today’s spring fashion trends! I LOVEEEEEE them! They put a fresh spin on your old, go-to outfit combos. Any color goes, so choose your favorite! I’ve rounded up some colored sneakers in the widget below.
Tip: Add other pieces to your wardrobe in the same color as your colored sneakers, like earrings, a blazer, or a shirt. Pairing them will help tie your outfit together!

This spring I’m personally rocking red sneakers and yellow sneakers. I also have pair of white sneakers that have a small green accent.
The red sneakers are super comfortable. Even better? They’re slip-ons, so you don’t need to tie laces! That totally sold me, haha! You can find them in several colors, HERE. I’m wearing size 9.
My yellow sneakers are 🤩 and of course are perfect for my wardrobe — it’s no secret I love yellow! They’re well-made and comfortable. These are also available in several colors, HERE. I’m wearing size 9.
Last are my white sneakers with the green accent. These are the $20 sneakers that I’ve mentioned before. They’re decently comfortable given that they’re just 20 bucks. But I personally prefer to add an insole to them for extra comfort. Grab them for $20 HERE! I wear these in size 8.5.

Spring Fashion Trend #3: Metallic Shoes
Like colored sneakers, metallic shoes are everywhere! This includes sneakers, flats, and heels. Do you know what’s fantastic about this? Metallic is a neutral, so metallic shoes go with pretty much EVERYTHING. This is one of the easiest spring fashion trend to incorporate, and you’ll get TONS of wear out of them!
I don’t own a pair YET, but I did feature them in the Spring Wardrobe & Outfit Guide! (BTW go grab your copy of the spring guide to see ALL these trends incorporated into tons of outfits that you can wear this season!)

Spring Fashion Trend #4: Colors!
I’m loving the vibrant colors that are in this spring! Now, are colors ever really “out”? As someone who is big on helping others develop their personal style, my answer is no! Personal style can transcend trends, so regardless of which colors are “in” at the moment, you can and should wear whatever colors you want that make you feel your best.
What does it mean, then, that colors are everywhere in stores? All it means is that stores have a lot of colors right now, and if colors you love are popular, it’s your time to stock up on them!

I’ve seen lots of different colors in stores these days, but one that stands out is soft yellow. When I was making the Spring Wardrobe & Outfit Guide, almost every store I checked had a sweater in soft yellow! However, there are plenty of other colors in stores right now as well, soft and bold!
I’m personally loving the pops of red — to match my sneakers, of course! But I’m here for the yellow and a burst of green, too!

Spring Fashion Trend #5: Animal Print
While animal print is a somewhat timeless style, it’s back in the spotlight as a popular spring fashion trend, and I’m here for it! Whether you wear an animal print top, shoes, or even animal print pants, you’ll add a punch to outfits!

The first top I’m wearing is an elevated t-shirt that can be dressed up with flats (and even worn with heels), or it can be dressed down with sneakers and jeans. Find it HERE. I’m wearing size S.
This bubble hem blouse has a subtler print made of black and tan. It can be dressed up for work with slacks and dressed down with jeans. It’s also available in a lighter tan/white print that’s really chic and pretty! Check it out HERE. I’m wearing size S.

Spring Fashion Trend #6: Stripes, Stripes, and Stripes
As if stripes weren’t popular enough, they are even more popular this spring! And, they’re not just around in your classic horizontal black and white style. Stores are full of colorful striped tops, tops with vertical stripes, and more. If you’re a stripe-lover, this is definitely your time to stock up with all that’s available right now!

This striped tee is the one I’m wearing with the yellow sneakers earlier in this post. It’s a classic piece that’s versatile and really affordable! It comes in straight, petite, plus, and tall sizes, HERE. I’m wearing size S.
Another option is the striped tee that I’m wearing with the red sneakers above, which is thicker and shorter than the one above. It’s also super soft! This one is short enough that I don’t need to tuck it. 🙌🏽 It comes in straight, petite, plus, and tall, HERE. I’m wearing size S.
For a sweater option, I’m wearing this adorable one from Kohl’s. It also comes in pink, yellow, and black, HERE. I’m wearing size S.
The blue and white vertical striped top is another style that’s pretty prevalent in stores right now. My top is old and no longer available, but I share more similar options in the roundup below!

How to Incorporate These Spring Fashion Trends Without Overhauling Your Wardrobe
Trends are fun to incorporate, but I never want you to completely overhaul your wardrobe each season. Like I said at the beginning of this post, these spring fashion trends are ones that won’t go out of style next week, and they’re easy to mix into your wardrobe. Pair them with your wardrobe basics to give your essentials a fun, modern twist. (Check out my blog post My Philosophy for Crafting a Wardrobe: Foundations & Flair Pieces for more on the mix of wardrobe essentials and trendy statement items.)
For instance, you can pair colored sneakers with wardrobe basics, like a t-shirt and jeans. You can wear metallic shoes with almost ANYTHING.
Colors are never truly “out,” as style is personal, and you can rock your favorite colors year after year.
You can add one animal print piece and wear it with your basic black pants or favorite pair of jeans.
When your wardrobe is built with a mixture of Foundations & Flair pieces, you can keep the foundations year after year and add a sprinkle of trendy “flair” to them to keep your outfits fresh!
