Friends, AMAZON PRIME DAY is today and tomorrow, July 11th and July 12th! In honor of that, I’m reviewing some Amazon finds and highlighting some previous PMT community favorites from Amazon. There are some GREAT pieces here that are totally worth checking out!
At the very bottom of the post, I’ll round up more of my Amazon favorites so scope it out in case they’re on sale for Prime Day.
Let’s start with some reviews!
SIZING: I’m 5’6″ and usually S/M or 6 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.
Amazon Essentials Wrap Dress – wearing size M
This dress is great for workwear! It’s made of smooth, stretchy material and has a v-neck and wrap shape to define the waist. There’s some ruching at the midsection, which helps conceal bumps. This material is on the thicker side, and it is not the casual t-shirt material. It’s dressier and better for work and special occasions. And, it doesn’t wrinkle! This dress comes in 9 colors and in sizes XS to 6X, HERE. I wear size M.
Shoes – wearing size 9
These flats are an old favorite that I’ve had since 2018(!!) and years later, I’m still in on them! They are very inexpensive at just $29.99, so if you need support or high quality shoes, pass on these. Otherwise, they are pretty good for the price, and I like them a lot more than other shoes in this price range from places like Target or Old Navy. The upper is soft and flexible compared to similar shoes that often feel more like cardboard. They run wide, so they’re not great for narrow feet, but they are good if you have average to slightly wider feet.
Stylistically, I like that the toes are pointed without being too pointy, so it elongates the leg line while keeping it relaxed (and without the “witch” effect 😆). I also like the cutouts on the side, which you can see better on the product page, HERE. It helps your foot area look more open, and I find it’s easier to style. They come in 13 colors, HERE. I’m wearing size 9.
(Side note: I once trekked through mud in these, and after a quick scrub with this Soak soap, they looked as good as new again. Pretty good for $29.99 shoes!)

Nickel & Suede Earrings – wearing size M
These aren’t from Amazon, but you can find them HERE. Very fun pop to outfits! I wear size M.
Democracy Shorts – wearing size 6
These shorts are by Democracy, which is a sister brand (or so I’m told) to my beloved favorite denim brand, Wit & Wisdom. (Find my go-to shorts from Wit & Wisdom HERE. Plus sizes HERE.) These are stretchy and comfortable, and they have an elastic strip in the waistband for extra comfort. See the stretchy waistband in action in the sideview above. (And, although that kind of looks like a pregnancy pic, I am NOT, lol!)
A couple of notes while we’re talking about Democracy. Sometimes people ask me the difference between Democracy and Wit & Wisdom. Here are two:
First, Democracy has an emblem on the back, and while it’s small, I personally don’t like its style. Wit & Wisdom tends to either have no emblem or one that looks more classic, giving it an overall cleaner look. This is totally dependent on your style, but it’s something to note and look for if you are going for Democracy pieces. This is one reason that I tend to lean towards Wit & Wisdom pieces personally.
Second, Democracy’s back pockets are often cut with a curve on the outside, which accentuates your backside. If you love that, go for it. For me, regardless of what it accentuates, I actually just don’t love that style. I find straighter pockets look cleaner.
Those are a couple of things to look out for and decide for yourself if you like them or not!
(And yes, Wit & Wisdom’s stretchy waistbands (with the elastic strip) also stretch like what I’m showing above. I’m telling you, these types of waistbands are GAME CHANGERS!)
That said, with these Democracy shorts, sizing was a bit interesting. I tried sizes 6 and 8 in both Blanched Almond and Powder Blue, and they were all different. Size 6 in Blanched Almond felt looser than size 8. BUT, in Powder Blue, size 6 felt tighter than size 8. THE TAKEAWAY: Always order two or more sizes to find your best fit. (And shop at places that offer free return shipping so you can do this easily!) Sometimes sizing up or down can completely change the way a garment looks and feels.
Amazon T-Shirt – wearing size M
This tee is super, super soft and fairly thick with a drapey material. I really like its rolled sleeves, which add a small detail and a relaxed touch. It’s pretty long as you can see in the second picture, but it works well in a full tuck or in a partial tuck. One note is that it does not really look like the picture on Amazon’s site and looks more like my pics here. It comes in 20 colors and in sizes S to XXL, HERE. I’m wearing size M in the color “brown” although it’s more like orange (which I prefer)!
Amazon Essentials Tank Shell – wearing size S
If you’re in need of some good, affordable layering tanks for work, check out this shell! It’s a great piece that can be worn by itself or easily layered under cardigans, blazers, and other jackets. You can wear it with jeans in nicer casual outfits or wear it with slacks for work. Super versatile! It comes in 5 cute prints and 5 solid colors, HERE. And it’s just $19! I’m wearing size S in the print “Black, Ditsy Floral.”

Amazon Essentials Denim Skirt – wearing size 6
This denim skirt is lightweight and STRETCHY, so it’s comfortable and wearable during the summer! I like that the skirt falls relatively straight from my hips, which is hard for me to find in pencil skirts as an Hourglass shape with curvy hips. The waistband isn’t as tight or as fitted as I’d like (Hourglass problems), so the skirt does shift around a bit on me. But, taking in the waistband is an easy alteration.

Striped Tank Dress – wearing size S
Stretchy, soft, and COMFY! And, POCKETS! Does it get any better? This is a great little summer find, and it comes in 20 colors. Check them out, HERE.
Pro tip #1: Since this is a tad more figure-hugging, I would personally stick with the printed versions over the solid colors if you want to conceal bumps. Prints help with that!
Pro tip #2: To smooth things out even more, especially around the backside, wear a slip underneath. It adds an extra layer to smooth over underwear lines and bumps without being too hot, and I feel way less exposed. The slip I wear is no longer available, but it looks identical to THIS one. Note that the waistband is wide and made of lace instead of a skinny piece of elastic. This helps the slip lay flat against your stomach and not dig into your stomach, which keeps the waist section smoother and also feels more comfortable to wear.
Hoop Earrings – 30mm
I’ve been wanting a pair of hoops, so when our PMT team member Courtney shared these insanely affordable earrings, I ordered them right away. She said, “I bought these in January and have worn them basically non-stop with no irritation and no tarnishing – I keep them on in the shower. This brand I can definitely recommend!”

Amazon Essentials Maxi Dress – wearing size S
I shared this dress back in the spring, but it’s great for summer, too! It is SUPER comfy, made of SOFT and STRETCHY material. It has an empire waist to offer some definition while still being very fluid, forgiving, and not constricting. It comes in 19 colors and prints, HERE. I’m wearing size S. It’s also made of sustainably sourced rayon blend that has a casual vibe. Three of the solid colors are available in plus sizes.

Printed Skirt – wearing size M
Still one of my favorite recent Amazon purchases! This skirt is silky, lightweight, and super comfortable with a forgiving elastic waistband. It comes in 24 colors and prints, HERE. I’m wearing size M, as I find size S to be too tight at the waist, even with the elastic waistband.
Pair this skirt with a solid white or black tee, depending on the colors in the print you choose, and simple sandals to keep the look clean and streamlined. It’s an easy option for looking cute and put together while staying cooler in the summer!
Tie-Waist Blouse – wearing size S
This blouse is smooth and drapey, and it works well in nicer casual outfits and paired with work pants. It has a belted waist so you can create definition at the waist without having to tuck! (Shout out to those who are anti-tuckers.) The waistband is adjustable, and there’s elastic in the back to allow you to move more comfortably. This style of waistband is not great if you have a wider midsection since it cuts right across it. Otherwise, it can create nice definition at the waist! It comes in 28 colors and prints!
