Does anyone else have long debates with themself about what to wear to things like baby showers and bridal showers? I totally do. I’ve somehow inferred from magazines and whatnot that bridal showers are occasions you need to dress up for. A lot. You know, when you get your fancy on.
WELLLLL, that’s not usually the MO of most showers *I* attend. While they’re usually pretty darn casual, I don’t want to find myself in that awkward moment that oops, this one wasn’t that casual after all! So when I’m deciding on an outfit I inevitably enter the struggle of not wanting to be too overdressed or too underdressed. What to do, what to do?! Gotta love them first world problems. But, #thestruggleisreal!
So, I most often aim for a happy medium–fancy casual. Or casual with a touch of girly. Whatever you want to call it, it’s this outfit.
I paired a totally casual top half with a pretty little feminine skirt and pumps for a fancy casual look that I wore to a bridal shower a couple weekends ago. I’m excited to pair this skirt with other tees for more everyday looks (like the metallic dot tee I ended up keeping), and with some nicer blouses in case I ever do have dressier occasions!
