Labor Day sales are live, and if you’re ready to update your wardrobe for fall, let’s gooooo! I’ve been doing a ton of shopping for the upcoming Fall Wardrobe & Outfit Guide, and there are lots of updated styles to old classics out there. I’m also especially excited for burgundy, mauve, and leopard print to enter the chat, which you’ll see plenty of here!
I’ll start by sharing some highlights that have really caught my eye — and why. Then, at the very bottom, I’ve rounded up even MORE Labor Day sale highlights to check out while they’re majorly discounted!
SIZING: I’m 5’6″ and usually S/M or 6 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.
Tops & Dresses
1. Chambray Shirt
Denim is EVERYWHERE this season, and you can go classic with this chambray shirt (comes in two washes), or add something with more style like this short sleeve cutie that I shared last week here on the blog! I wear the short sleeve one in size S.
2. LOFT Ruffle Top
PERFECT for the mauve and burgundy we’re seeing everywhere this season. This one is cute and will pair great with mauve AND burgundy toppers.
3. Gap Factory Top
Need a short sleeve option? I shared this top earlier this week in the Burgundy Floral colorway, and it’s definitely a good pickup for early fall. Debating where or not to feature it in the fall guide, but even if not, any maroon printed top will work. I’ll be wearing this one for sure, though! I wear size S.
4. Old Navy Cardigan Sweater
Wear a cardigan all buttoned up like a pullover, and the buttons give it extra character and style! I ordered this one in green and the bright yellow. (Who says you can’t wear brighter colors in the fall?!) I don’t plan to feature this one in the guide, but I do personally plan to use ANY of my favorite colored sweaters or sweatshirts for whatever color ends up in the fall guide!
5. Cardigan Sweater
Another cardigan sweater! The crochet detail makes it way more interesting than a plain neutral sweater. There’s also a similar short sleeve version here.
6. J.Crew Factory Striped Sweatshirt
Yes, we are pro-sweatshirts here, friends — just make them cute! This one comes in olive stripes, navy stripes, and leopard print!
7. Gap Factory Maroon Stripe Sweater
Very “fall” and so easy to wear! The “Pink Red Stripe” colorway perfectly incorporates both mauve and burgundy. Definitely considering featuring this or the sweatshirt above in the Fall Guide. This one’s “Twist of Lime” colorway is also popular this season!
8. V-Neck Maxi Dress
I can’t stress how good this dress feels, especially if you’ll have warm weather for a while. VERY breathable! I wear size S.
Shoes
9. Target Buckle Flats
Super popular right now, and this is an affordable dupe! (See the original HERE.) If you don’t like buckles, you can also go for THIS pair from Target, which is a more affordable option for THIS Madewell pair.
10. Target Washable Knit Flats
Leopard is hot, and these are an affordable option! You can find the higher quality version HERE if you like. I also like the idea of these in burgundy, which is an especially popular color this season.
11. Nordstrom Blush Sneakers
These were part of the NSale but cost even LESS now. Not sure where to be mad or happy about that, haha! Either way, wear the mauve one with that Gap Bubble Jacket above. So cute! The leopard print version is also VERY cute. I wear size 9.
Jeans & Pants
12. Wide Leg Pants for Work AND Casual
First, this store always has MAJOR sales, so grab polished casualwear and workwear during sales! These pants come in tons of colors and look relaxed but polished at the same time. You can totally wear them for work AND for super casual styles. I’d get the Bright Wine colorway for this season! (BTW, free shipping on orders $50+ and free return shipping on all orders!)
13. Madewell Jeans
Another item I LOVED from the NSale but is now even cheaper, AND fully restocked. (UGH, Nordstrom!!) Anyway, they’re SO CUTE because they’re super duper wide. Very fun silhouette! And SO COMFY with lots of stretch. I wear size 28.
14. KUT From the Kloth Meg
One of my go-to’s, on sale! Buttery soft and sooo good. Sizes are limited, so scoop it up on sale while you can! I sized down to 4.
Jackets & Cardigans 😍
15. Kohl’s Denim Shacket
Have you seen that denim jackets are getting an update? Don’t freak out – wear your classic trucker jackets if you want, no prob. But if you want a fresh spin, get a shacket like this one!
16. Madewell Bomber Jacket
Speaking of denim jackets, another option is this bomber version. Gahhhh, you know…I’m really a bomber jacket girl, so I’m 😍 for this one. Hoping this goes on sale!
17. Kohl’s Utility Shacket
This is a nice update to a utility jacket that’s not too short nor too long. I sized down to XS!
18. Talbot’s Jacket
Need something more saturated than the typical olive jacket? I LOVE this green!
19. Old Navy Barn Jacket
Popular this season! Comes in olive and a soft pink, and a PMTer said she loves the pink one. You can also try THIS one from Gap Factory.
20. LOFT Wool Blend Jacket
Burgundy is all over the place this season, and this jacket will be a great topper.
21. Walmart Cardigan
Prefer a cardigan instead of jackets? Oh, and not into collars? This cardigan is GREAT from a style-ease standpoint: There is no prominent collar and no buttons to compete with the collars or buttons on your shirts. And, this cardigan is short, so it works with all styles of pants. I’m not sure how it fits, but I’d definitely give it a try (and stock up in all colors) because of the open silhouette, short length, and lack of buttons alone!
22. Gap Bubble Jacket
OKAY HOW CUTE IS THIS? No idea how it fits, but it LOOKS adorable, and so great for all the mauve, berry, and burgundy we see right now!
