November Try-Ons From Quince, Old Navy, Kohl’s, and Amazon

November Try-Ons From Quince, Old Navy, Kohl's, and Amazon + november try-ons + putting me together

I’ve been trying to fill a few gaps in my wardrobe lately, especially as the weather cools. So, today I have some try-ons of things I’ve been checking out…including finally reviewing those barrel leg jeans I’ve been linking to!

I’m walking you through some pieces I’ve tried, including what I’m keeping, what I’m still deciding on, and what I’m thinking about returning. Hopefully, besides pointing you to some good pieces, these try-ons help you think through your own wardrobe needs this season, too!

SIZING: I’m 5’6″ and usually S/M or 6 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.

Water-Resistant Puffer Coat

I wanted a shorter puffer jacket that I could wear with wide leg jeans AND athleisure pants in a medium weight. (I already have one that is super thick and cozy, but it’s overkill for this time of year.) This coat does the trick!

It has a puffy, relaxed, slightly oversized silhouette. I personally love slightly oversized pieces, but this style is not for everyone, and it can be harder to work with if you’re not used to it. Find it HERE.

Crop Sweatshirt

I’m looking for crop sweatshirts to wear with wide leg athleisure pants, and I had high hopes for this one. It’s quite cropped and certainly reads more youthful, which is fine for me, but just something to be mindful of if that’s not your style.

More importantly, I expected it to be fleece (since the name says “fleece”), but it’s actively a sporty, activewear, scuba-like sweatshirt instead of a cozy fleece. That doesn’t mean it’s bad, though! I think it’s really cute, and I’ll probably keep it. But I’ll continue looking for a warmer one as well.

Available in other prints and in straight, petite, plus, and tall sizes HERE. I’m wearing size S.

Old Navy Cardigan

Cardigans worn all the way buttoned up like a pullover sweater have been trending. It’s a great way to add visual interest to your outfit — the buttons add such a cute detail. This one is SO SOFT and comes in lots of colors that I love HERE! I’m wearing size S.

Old Navy Barrel Leg Jeans

Remember when I ordered these jeans and told you they were a pleasant surprise? I haven’t cared much to try a bunch of barrel leg jeans, but every so often I’ll throw some in if I’m already placing an order somewhere. This pair has great reviews and was actually a hit!

Most importantly, they fit my hourglass shape well, which shouldn’t be overlooked! The fabric is a thick, good weight for cooler fall temps, but they’re not super stretchy like I prefer my jeans, and are a bit heavier than I’m used to wearing. I’ve done the stretch test in them, and so far they haven’t become horribly misshapen, which I also don’t want to overlook. They come in straight, petite, plus, and tall sizing HERE. Wearing size 6.

I still don’t know if I want to keep them as I’m undecided about whether I even want barrel leg jeans. I’m not sure how versatile they are yet, so I’ll have to play around with them a bit more. On the other hand, they are nice to have around when you just want a fun and trendy pop in your outfits. It’s an instant style boost. Either way, it’s nice to know there’s a pair waiting for me that fits if I decide I want this type of jeans!

I am also wearing the barrel leg jeans with the crop black sweatshirt above.

C’est La Vie Tee

I’m on the lookout for graphic tees, and this is a good one. It’s thick and structured, so it looks way more expensive than it is! It comes in other colors, too. Find it HERE. Wearing size S.

Fleece-Lined Flare Leggings

I got these leggings in black almost 2 years and LOVED them, so I got them in burgundy, too! As much as I like wide leg pants, flare leggings pair a thousand times easier with most sweatshirts. These are lined with fleece, so they’re suuuper warm and cozy! Available in lots of colors, HERE. I’m wearing size M.

Burgundy Knit Flats – under $20!

This is a super affordable way to add this season’s hot color to your outfits! They have a cushioned footbed and knit upper that stretches with your feet. Comfortable and only $19.99 HERE!!

Quince Straight Leg Jeans

I’ve had these for a long time, but in case you’re interested, these straight leg jeans are thick and stretchy. I own them in two washes and recommend you give them a shot if you’re in the market! Wearing size 28.

Quince Wide Leg Jeans

I’ve been wanting to try these for so long and was finally able to! I really, really like them! They’re thick, structured, and supportive, and they have a really good amount of stretch that keeps them looking polished and tailored. 🙌

As for the fit, I prefer the 30” over the 32”. The latter tapered inward on me, which looked messy. This length (30″) keeps the line of the jeans straight and polished. Obviously it’ll depend on your height. But my point is to say if one length looks frumpy and you notice it tapers inward oddly, try a shorter length. The length of jeans can make a HUGE, HUUUUUGE difference in how you look. (Trust me… one of the things we coach women on the most is nailing the right length of jeans!!)

These are available in a variety of inseams, straight and plus sizes, and tons of washes. I’m wearing size 28 in the Frosted Blue wash with the 30″ inseam. Check them out HERE

One note is that the burgundy pair is made with much thinner fabric and is not AS structured. Also, the sizing is a bit different! I wear the 29 in that colorway.

Kohl’s Waffle Sweater

I love a good textured sweater! This one is super duper SOFTTTTT — though it makes me wonder if it’ll wash well. 🤔 I also like the shorter length. I’m hyper focused on short sweaters that you can wear with wide leg pants, and this one is great! Comes in several colors HERE. I’m wearing size S.

Note: This does add bulk to your top half, so it’s most effortlessly paired with straight leg jeans, flare leg jeans, or bootcut jeans.

More Old Navy Try-Ons (That I Don’t Have Pics Of)

I didn’t get pics of these for various reasons, but there are some notable things here!

Grey Wide Leg Trousers

GAHHHHH I wanted these to work. I own them in another color and like them. This color was perfect! But the fabric for the grey colorway wrinkles, so it’s a no-go. Also, these trousers are a tad loose on me, and with pleats and a curvy figure, if the fit is slightly off, it makes a bigger impact.

Curvy Extra High Waisted Wide Leg Jeans

I ordered these for the color and thought they were fine… but I also thought, “Why would I keep these when I could wear the Quince Wide Leg Jeans (reviewed above) instead?” I’m returning these, but I know that if I can’t find a similar color in the Quince pair, I can try these again.

Fleece-Lined Wide Leg Pants

These pants are women’s sizing, but I bought them for my 11 year old daughter. (She wears XS Petite now, which opens up a whole world of clothing options!!) SHE LOVES THESE! They’re lined with fleece, and I always make sure my kids have fleece-lined pants for winter. It gives me peace of mind since I know they’re eating lunch and hanging out in the cold at school!

I actually haven’t tried them, so I can’t speak to the fit or fabric, but my daughter has a sensitivity to clothes, and these pass the test. I did notice they wing out on her a little at the bottom of the leg, so they are quite wide.

Fleece-Lined Flare Pants

Same exact COZY feel as the wide leg pants above, but in flare form. My daughter also wears XS Petite in these.

If you want cozy, feels-like-sweats pants that you can wear all through winter, definitely check out both of these!

That’s all for today! Let me know what you’re currently shopping for or trying to figure out in your wardrobe!
