Memorial Day sales can be SO GREAT for rounding out your summer wardrobe. But they can also get overwhelming fast. So instead of sharing hundreds of random links, I’ve curated a list of pieces I actually think are worth a look this year. These are versatile, easy-to-wear summer staples mixed with fun pieces that help you pull together outfits quickly — from gauze pants to lightweight layers to everyday basics you’ll wear on repeat.
SIZING: I’m 5’6″ and usually S/M or 6 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.
J.Crew Factory – 50% off everything
There are some really cute pieces from J.Crew Factory on sale for Memorial Day, but there are a few that SUPER stick out to me. These are the ones that will be workhorses in your wardrobe — for this summer and many summers to come!
- Gauze Button Up Top – Wearing in first outfit above. SO SOFT and great to wear by itself or as a lightweight summer layer. It breathes well and gives you a light layer that’s super comfortable to wear all day but doesn’t suffocate you. I LOVE this, and it’s absolutely worth getting while on sale! I wear size S.
- Gauze Short Sleeve Top – You NEED a short sleeve gauze top in your wardrobe. It’s the better-than-a-t-shirt casual top that you can throw on and instantly look good —while staying COOL because gauze is breathable. Gauze is super soft and comfortable, too, (especially compared to linen, which can be scratchy).
- Linen Button Top – TOO CUTE! Another elevated casual top that makes you look stylish without trying. The buttons add detail that makes your outfit super interesting while still being understated.
- Denim Shorts – These are really cute!
- Denim Shorts #2 – Also cute, in a medium to dark wash
- Ella Pants – I don’t own these, but tons of women in the PMT community do and love them. Great fit, comfortable, and NO front patch pockets!
- Linen Pants – Another fan favorite! Always a must to check out in the summer, especially on sale.
- V-Neck Tee – PMT stylist Courtney recommends this tee if you’re looking for a white tee.

Old Navy
There are SO many options at Old Navy, but we all know it can be hit or miss over there. 😅 Here are some that are *actually* good!
- Playa Pants – Longtime FAVE. Super duper breathable for summer. Soft and comfy. NOT scratchy AT ALL. My replacement for shorts in the summer. Wearing in first two outfits above. Read my detailed review about them HERE. I wear size S.
- Gauze Pants – Another super lightweight, super comfortable, breathable pant. Love! Wearing in third outfit above. I wear size S.
- Jacket – Limited availability, but it’s the spring to summer jacket I’ve been looking for in white! Wearing in fourth outfit above. Size XS as it has an oversized fit.
- Barrel Leg Jeans – Obviously these would be better for cooler days, but since they’re on sale, scoop them up. These are my favorite barrel leg jeans. The shape is perfect, and they hold their shape all day. Wearing in fourth pic above. I wear size 6.
- Wow Wide Leg Jeans – PMT fan favorite; def get while on sale. These are thinner and can work for some summer days. Soft, flexible, and incredibly affordable! Shown in fifth pic above. I wear size 6.
- Wow Pixie Wide Leg Pants – Work staple! VERY STRETCHY and comfortable, but they look polished. Not too thick and can be worn in the office during the summer. Shown in sixth pic above. Wearing size 6.

- Bomber Jacket – SUCHHHH a pretty color! This one is on is way to me already!
Lands’ End
I don’t own a ton from Lands’ End (yet), but I’ve appreciated the quality of the few pieces I do own!
- Dress – SO GOOD. Wearing above. Comes in 3 colorways, including a cute blue/white stripe and black with white trim. It’s poplin, so it’ll keep you cooler in the summer. Fits like a glove and just looks so dang good.
- Elevated Casual Top – I don’t own this, but I know you’re always looking for elevated casual tops. This one looks great.
- Swimsuit – PMTers love Lands’ End swimsuits. Great quality and shouldn’t get weird from chlorine. Popular ones: this and this.
- Packable Squall Rain Jacket – Great if you’re traveling and/or just need an updated rain jacket. Comes in several fun colors, and in straight, petite, tall, and plus sizes.

Kohl’s
Kohl’s has some of my favorite summer workhorses:
- Sonoma Goods Tank Top – I own it in a billion colors. It goes perfectly with lightweight summer pants. Any tank top you see in this entire post is this one from Kohl’s. It’s like $8, too! I wear size S.
- Simply Vera Pants – Some of my FAVORITE summer pants. SO soft and BREATHABLE. And they don’t wrinkle. More detailed review in my post My Best Summer Pants Recommendations if you’re interested. Gotta grab them on sale! Wearing them in both the 2nd and 3rd outfits above.
- Denim Shorts – I own these in a few different colorways. They’re stretchy but have good rebound and support. I wear size 6.
- Linen Bomber Jacket – If you need a lightweight linen casual jacket for summer, check this one out! Wearing it the 4th outfit above.

- Denim Jacket – Modern cut that’s shorter but not snug. I sized down to XS.
- Dolman Sleeve Tee – Perfect no-tuck length, so it’s effortless to wear. It’s hard to see in these pics, but the sleeves have a cute detail on the trim of the sleeves, too! Wearing size S.

Gap Factory
- Gauze Short Sleeve Top – Everyone could use a top like this in the summer. Better than a basic tee, but still totally casual and comfortable. Keeps you a lot cooler since it’s gauze, too!
- Gauze Oversized Long Sleeve Button Up – I shared the J.Crew Factory one earlier, but this one from Gap Factory is a bit more oversized and relaxed. Try this if you prefer that look, versus the more fitted J.Crew Factory one above.
- Soft Pull-On Barrel Pants – These are really fun and soft. Lots of colorways, like regular denim washes, but I also loooove the leopard print ones. Note: These are better for straighter hips. If you have a pear or hourglass shape with curvy hips, pass on these.
- Cute Graphic Print Tees – Good ones are hard to come by, but Gap Factory tees tend to be really good. Get them on sale!

Ruggable (Washable Rugs) – up to 20% off
Another non-clothes one, but some of you have been interested in rugs, and since they’re big purchases, sale time is the best time. These are great rugs with beautiful designs, and they’re all washable. We have a huge one, so truth be told, it doesn’t fit in our washing machine, haha. But I do feel a bit better knowing that things should theoretically wash out of it more easily, even if we have to spot clean areas by hand.
