Here are some items I’m LOVING lately! If you want to skip sifting through all the options and know what pieces I’ve been wearing on repeat, here they are!
SIZING: I’m 5’6″ and usually S/M or 6 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.

1. Target Wide Leg Jeans
These jeans are only $28 and have good reviews! The fabric is really thick and a good weight for fall and colder temps. They are not stretchy at all, but the tradeoff is they provide good structure and help you feel held-in. Still, the legs are soft and don’t feel stiff. Where you feel the lack of stretch is at the waistband and in the seat — and you know a non-stretchy waistband is so tough for me! These felt super tight when I first tried them on, but because they are 99% cotton I expected them to stretch a bit, which they did. They stretched just enough to loosen up at the waistband, and I was able to sit comfortably in them ALL DAY for meetings, but they didn’t stretch out so much to the point of getting saggy. Also note that every colorway is different. The cream pair was a bit looser than the black pair for me.
Last note, if you have an hourglass or pear figure then manage your expectations with these! I’m an hourglass and these barely worked well since they are not cut for curvy figures, and there is not stretch to make up for it. This doesn’t mean don’t try them! It just means prepare your mental state that if they don’t fit, it’s not your fault — the problem is they aren’t cut for curves.
Check them out HERE. I’m wear them in size 6 and have them in black and beige. They’re available in straight and plus sizes.
I save these jeans for the cooler days (it’s BLAZING HOT where I live as I write this post), and they will be first in line once we get a cool week again!!
2. Kohl’s Blue Stripe Top
A blue stripe top feels very current, but it’s not so trendy that it’ll look outdated anytime soon. I love the relaxed feel and fit of this one. The fabric is really soft, but it doesn’t feel flimsy or cheap, and it lays nicely over bumps and curves. I also wore this on a 100 degree day and did not feel suffocated like I do in some other tops, which is why it’s a favorite! I prefer it one size down, but if you can, I think you should try both your regular size and a size down to see which fits you better. Find it in several prints and colorways HERE.

3. Red Blazer
I love this revitalization of red. I had a red blazer long ago but had to get rid of it due to it no longer fitting after having a couple of babies. This one is on the longer side and has a relaxed fit, rather than a proper-feeling, tailored fit. I’m all about relaxed-looking clothes. It comes in TONS of colors, HERE. I’m wearing size S.

4. Kohl’s Wide Leg Ponte Pants
I have mentioned these pants so many times, but it’s because I legit LOVE them!!!!! They are SOOOOOO COMFORTABLE! The fabric is thick, so you feel secure, but it’s incredibly stretchy and very soft. They are super versatile. I’ve shown them dressed up for work with a blouse and heels, in a nicer casual outfit with a blouse, flats, and a denim jacket, and in a casual outfit with a striped t-shirt and sneakers. So, so, so versatile. They come in navy and black, HERE. I wear size 6.
5. Nickel & Suede Pomegranate Florence Earrings
Because I’m on the red train this season, I’ve been wearing these earrings a lot lately. Love them! I love the Florence style in general and own them in four colors! These earrings are incredibly lightweight and comfortable to wear – almost feels like you’re not wearing earrings – yet they make a huge statement and can totally transform your outfit. Find them HERE. Use code PUTTINGMETOGETHER5 to get $5 off your order.
6. Red Mary Jane Flats
Again with the red train. These Mary Jane flats go with t-shirts or with blouses, and they add a really fun pop to outfits! Plus, they’re just $30 and comfortable for shoes in that price range! Find them in several colorways, HERE. I wear size 9.
Long-Time Favorites
And because these are always worth mentioning, not to mention they’re super important if you are trying to build up your basics, I also want to share a few not-as-new items that I’ve been loving for a super long time.
7. Lauren Conrad Denim Jacket
Sturdy and structured but stretchy. The wash of this jacket is a fantastic more vibrant blue, which is great for someone like me who pops with the vibrant colors. (Click here to read all about my color analysis.) It also has a slightly roomier fit, which again goes with my love for relaxed pieces. It comes in two washes, HERE. I wear size S.

8. KUT From the Kloth Wide Leg Jeans
Ahhhhhhh, BUTTERY SOFT! SOOOOOO COMFORTABLE. Need I say more? The best. Now, I don’t know about ALL the colorways of these jeans as I’ve heard that the ecru pair might not be as soft. But try a few and see which ones are the buttery soft colorways! Love these jeans so much. Catch them HERE. I wear size 4.
It’s been too hot where I live to wear this exact outfit, so I’ve been wearing these jeans with t-shirts and sneakers most of the time lately. LOVE them!!

Boots: Nordstrom (exact—wearing size 8.5)
Earrings: Amazon (exact—wearing 30mm)
Necklace: Nordstrom (exact; nearly identical—but way more affordable!)
9. Amazon Hoop Earrings
So underrated, but these earrings polish off every outfit effortlessly. And they’re only $11.89! Like, why wouldn’t you just order them to try?? They’re really lightweight, and though I’ve worn them nearly every day for over a year, they haven’t tarnished. It’s nuts for how inexpensive they are. They come in several different metal colors, HERE. I’m wearing size 30mm.

10. Dolce Vita Sneakers
Still going strong from the 2023 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. There are few items that I say EVERY person needs, but white-based lifestyle sneakers is one of them. You don’t have to have THIS pair, but you need *a* pair. They will make every single one of your casual outfits look INSTANTLY updated and fresh. I do love this pair though. They are comfortable and have a tinnyyyyyyy wedge inside, which I do not feel when I walk, BUT they give your legs a little lift and extend the leg line. It’s small but goes a long way to create a more flattering line in dresses, shorts, and jeans. Find them HERE at Nordstrom in some colorways and HERE at Nordstrom Rack for cheaper and in other colorways. I wear size 8.5.
