SIZING: I’m 5’6″ and usually S/m or 6 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.

Pointelle, Textured Knits, Open Weaves

When are these not in for spring? 😆 These textures add a light, airy element to outfits, which is especially great for spring. Add them through sweaters with pointelle or textured knits and shoes with open weaves. These elements are featured and styled in the new Spring 2026 Guide to wear all season long!

Relaxed Denim & Barrel Legs

Denim is leaning relaxed this spring. Think wide leg (full length is most popular, but ankle length still works), relaxed straight, and barrel leg silhouettes. Of course, you can wear any cuts you prefer. But if you want to play into really trending pieces, adding a barrel leg cut is a fun option!

I personally like this pair from Old Navy as it holds the barrel leg shape really well. Plus, it’s really affordable, which I tend to gravitate towards for trends. (I don’t like spending too much on new styles at first — it’s usually an experimentation phase, and I haven’t honed in on what I really like, so I don’t want to spend a lot at first!) I’m wearing size 6.

Cropped Jackets

Jacket silhouettes got a refresh a bit ago, and it’s carrying into spring. Think chore jackets, field jackets, and bombers — or really any cropped style. Bonus: cropped lengths balance wide leg and barrel leg pants really well.

Here are some options:

Button Up Cardigans

Still going strong! Wear them fully buttoned like a pullover sweater, or layer them open over tees and blouses.

Leopard is still going strong, and you’ll see peeks of snakeskin here and there. These prints add interest to an outfit without feeling over the top. Try incorporating them through a shoe, skirt, belt, or another accessory for an easy pop.

(If you want to double up the trends, I featured a pair of leopard print barrel leg pants in the guide! Of course, it’s optional, but it’s a fun item to have so you can play with style. One option in brown + black is THIS pair, which has a drawstring and is pretty comfortable. Another option, in case you need a cool-toned grey + black pair is THIS pair, made of super structured and sturdy fabric that is also stretchy and comfortable. I’m wearing size 6.

Lightweight Scarves

Scarves add a fun pop that instantly “springifies” your outfit! Add one to any outfit that needs a little boost.

Belts

Belts are officially back in the spotlight! Add one to polish an outfit, define your waist, or just bring in a little texture or color.

Colored Sneakers

Sneakers are getting a fun update this spring. Think green, red, leopard, or other playful options that add personality to simple outfits. They’re an easy way to keep basics feeling fresh without sacrificing comfort.

One important thing to remember about trends is that you don’t need to overhaul your wardrobe to enjoy them. The easiest way to incorporate trends is simply by adding one or two pieces into outfits you already love!

For example:

  • Try a soft-colored sweater with your favorite jeans
  • Add woven flats or textured shoes to a simple outfit
  • Swap in a cropped jacket over outfits you already wear
  • Add a belt or scarf to bring new life to basics
  • Try colored sneakers with casual outfits

Small updates like these can make outfits feel fresh without requiring you to rebuild your entire wardrobe.
