Three Casual Fall Outfits to Copy
Now, here are some easy casual fall outfits to copy!
1. Colored Top (Olive Button Up) + Wide Leg Jeans
Olive is perfect for fall, but you can choose ANY color top you want — even soft pink or a deep red! Top it off with neutral flats, like Mary Jane flats, or loafers.
Tip: When figuring out shoes for wide leg jeans — especially FULL LENGTH ones — make sure that the toe box is long enough so that you can still see the shoe. Otherwise your feet will get swallowed up and could possibly make you look stumpy.
Another tip is that chunky loafers are great for wide leg jeans. The chunky sole balances out the extra fabric and width from the jeans!
Shop the Outfit:
Top: Old Navy (exact)
Cardigan: J.Crew Factory (exact; similar)
Jeans: Nordstrom (exact—I wear size 4)
Loafers: Nordstrom (exact)
Flats: Nordstrom (exact)
2. Striped Tee + Black Wide Leg Pants
This is a classic combo updated with current silhouettes and styles, like wide leg pants and red Mary Jane flats.
I am personally excited for the comeback of a red shoe, and while you can always wear any type of red flat, a very current and updated style is a red Mary Jane flat! They are EVERYWHERE this season, from high end to low end and everything between. Want to try the style in a low-risk way? Check out this $30 pair with fantastic reviews!
Whichever style of shoe you wear, remember to make sure it has an elongated toe box to extend your leg line amidst all of that extra fabric that wide leg pants add!
Shop the Outfit:
Short Sleeve Tee: Gap (exact—I wear size S)
Long Sleeve Tee: J.Crew Factory (exact)
Denim Jacket: Kohl’s (exact—I wear size M)
Pants: Old Navy (exact; another great option—I wear size 6)
Boots: Nordstrom (exact—I wear size 9)
Sneakers: Nordstrom (exact—I wear size 8.5)
Flats: Madewell (exact, similar from Target)
3. Colored Printed Top + Colored Pants
This combo requires you to be mindful that the colors in the top and the bottoms pair well together, but it’s a fun one!
The rust orange pants are the ones from Kohl’s that I shared in a recent post, 3 Elevated Casual Outfits to Wear This Fall. I love them! The fabric is thick, sturdy, and supportive, but plenty stretchy. I’ll have to wait until it’s a lot cooler to wear them (which isn’t until like November or December where I live, haha), but I can’t wait!
If rust orange doesn’t work for you, one that is close but works for other complexions is the soft pink / salmon-y color. If neither of those work, remember, you can customize the colors to something else altogether, so choose your favorite!
