Brown is HUGE this season, and adding some wardrobe staples in chocolate brown, like a striped tee, a puffer vest, and lifestyle sneakers, instantly gives a classic outfit formula a fresh twist! Brown sneakers are everywhere this fall, and there are some great options available which I’ll link below. If you want, you can mix in another color that’s popular this season by opting for sneakers in earthy pink / mauve tone instead!
Of course, if chocolate brown isn’t your thing, this outfit totally still works with a black and white striped tee + a black or white vest and white lifestyle sneakers. You’ll still look updated. But, if you want to add that extra layer of being on-trend, try some brown!

Speaking of that earthy pink, mauve color, if you love it, this is a great time to stock up because there are so many mauve pieces out there this season! For this outfit, you don’t have to go with mauve, as endless printed tops would work with white pants. Grab your favorite printed top and wear it! However, if you want to update your wardrobe with some on-trend colors, this is a gorgeous color, and this particular top works great for work and for nicer casual outfits.

Last up, burgundy pants are back, baby! It doesn’t feel like that long ago that we were all into burgundy skinny jeans. For an updated look, go for wide leg pants. Bonus — get ones you can dress up with flats and boots for work AND dress down with lifestyle sneakers and a t-shirt.
I own the sweater featured here, and I love that it’s short enough that you don’t need to tuck it. You can find it HERE. I wear size S.
If it won’t be sweater weather where you live for a while, consider a short sleeve sweater. They’re great for the summer to fall transitional weather. THIS one from Quince looks great with its relaxed, but chic, silhouette. Find it in plus sizes here.
