Well, you all LOVED the post 8 Outfits With Black Wide Leg Pants with those INSANELY COMFORTABLE black pants! I have bad news and good news. The bad news is they’re too short for most of us to wear in the winter if we want our legs to be fully covered. 😭 (They’re SO GOOD for all the other months of the year, though! Winter just requires its own special wardrobe needs because it can be so extreme.) The good news is that I have five other comfortable pants for winter that will keep your legs covered so you won’t freeze!
These pants include a mix of work, casual, and athleisure items so that no matter what you’re doing, you have comfortable options. SIZING: I’m 5’6″ and usually S/M or 6 in clothes and 8.5 to 9 in shoes.
5 Comfortable Pants for Winter
1. Old Navy Powersoft Trousers
Are they trousers? Are they athleisure wear? Yes and yes! They’re really, really comfortable. They’re great for athleisure with sneakers and a cute sweatshirt. But in some colors you could also dress them up as trousers. Find them in straight, plus, petite, and tall sizes HERE. I wear size XS as they run quite large!
2. Wit & Wisdom Wide Leg Jeans
OHMIGOSH SO COMFORTABLE! SOOOO soft. SOOOO stretchy. Stretchy elastic waistband! Like, YES. I love these so, so much. Also, if you’ve tried the KUT From the Kloth wide leg jeans, which are alsooooo super comfortable and should definitely have been put on this list (oops!), this Wit & Wisdom pair has an even higher rise. I know the KUT ones weren’t high enough for some of you. Find the Wit & Wisdom jeans HERE. I’m wearing size 6, but another PMTer who has less curvy hips than me says she sized down one.
3. Old Navy Trouser Pants
Super affordable, comfortable pants for work. They’re fairly thick. They look good. They have elastic in the back of the waistband for more wiggle room! Wear them to work with a blouse. You can also dress them down with lifestyle sneakers! They come in tons of solid colors and a few printed versions HERE. I’m wearing size S.

4. Fleece-Lined Leggings 🔥
If you don’t own fleece leggings for winter, you need to get on it! I got these last January. SO COZY. They keep you way warmer, and they’re affordable! They come in tons of colors and in a 29” inseam and a 32”. I wear the 32” which are maybe 1/2” too long for me, but they end up being fine with my sneakers. See all the colors, HERE. I wear size M.

5. Liverpool Kelsey Flare Ponte Pants
This is like the holy grail brand for comfortable work pants. The Kelsey line in particular is insanely comfortable and stretchy. For winter, I’d opt for the flare cut so you can easily wear them with boots and keep your ankles covered! Find them in straight, petite, plus, and tall sizes HERE.
6. *BONUS!* Wit & Wisdom Wide Leg Corduroy Pants
Whee – I’m sticking a sixth one in here that I just found! These pants are SOFTTTT and stretchy. They have the signature stretchy elastic waistband to make them even more comfortable. And they keep you warm because they’re corduroy! The corduroy isn’t stiff or thick, though. It’s just SOFT. These pants are fantastic, and if you’re looking for white-ish pants for winter, definitely give these a try! Find them HERE. I wear size 6.
