Four Casual Spring Outfits for 2026
This first outfit follows one of the formulas I shared in How to Dress for Spring When It’s Cold — a top (with an inner layer underneath, if you need extra warmth) + a cardigan + light or medium wash jeans. The color palette makes it feel like spring, but you can still layer up if needed.
A blue and white striped button up is a classic, and you can wear it casually with jeans like this or with pants/trousers to work, which I also show in the Spring Guide. If it’s warmer where you are, a blue and white short sleeve striped top is a seamless swap — that’s what I’ll be wearing!
Top it off with a neutral sweater, like white, tan, or grey, or make it fun with a colored cardigan! An orange one works really well with blue, since those colors sit opposite each other on the color wheel and are complementary colors. I LOVE yellow or green with this combo, too!

I’ve been sharing that short sleeve sweaters are everywhere this spring, so naturally I had to include some, right? The one shown here is the Amazon one I reviewed recently in this beautiful green. I LOVE that it’s not a muddy olive! That said, you can really opt for ANY color for a sweater, and it’ll work really well with this outfit formula. Pink, green, light blue — go for it!
White pants go with everything and look super fresh for spring. I love that you can dress them down like this and pair them with lifestyle sneakers or flats, and of course, that you can also wear them to work.

Let’s have a little fun with style! I put some trending items into the guide, like leopard print pants — and a barrel leg pair, at that! Plus, I added green sneakers, which seem to be popular right now, even if they aren’t on any official trend report. Remember, you can choose any cut of pants you prefer, so if barrel legs aren’t your thing, go for straight or wide leg options. The easiest thing to pair ANY printed piece with, whether it’s leopard print, floral print, or something else, is a basic, neutral top. Here, it’s a nice white tee. Easy peasy!
